Eagles Rumors: Kellen Moore, Joe Brady, and a Doug Pederson Gap Year?
Lots of Flyers and Sixers news over the past 24 hours, however –
Let’s get it back to the Eagles.
Tons of rumors floating around out there regarding the coaching search. We’ve got interviews and requests and other assorted nuggets out there. Not the Denver Nuggets, but nuggets of information.
Among those tidbits:
Kellen Moore
Casting a wide net for Doug Pederson’s successor, the Philadelphia Eagles have requested an interview with an NFC East rival, Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, for their head coach opening, according to a source. Moore, 32, signed a three-year… https://t.co/grpZcygpFA

He’s done a nice job with Dak Prescott down there in Dallas. And his offense put up 500 yards against the depleted Eagles with backup Andy Dalton running the show.
Joe Brady
The #Eagles have interviewed #Panthers OC Joe Brady for their open head coaching job, source said. Brady has interviewed for nearly every opening this circuit.

It’s a fascinating story.
We mentioned Wednesday that Brady was working as a Penn State graduate assistant just four years ago. Then he won the Broyles Award at LSU and took the Panthers’ OC gig, where he turned Robby Anderson into a 1,000 yard receiver and unlocked Curtis Samuel. He only had three games of Christian McCaffrey this year.
Robert Saleh
The #Chargers are expected to bring in #49ers DC Robert Saleh for a second interview, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. That means Saleh will go for second interviews with LAC and the #Jets, plus he’s currently interviewing with the #Eagles for the first time.

Saleh has made the rounds and interviewed with multiple teams.
The interesting thing is considering whom he might bring in as an offensive coordinator. Having spent a few years in San Francisco, he could conceivably grab a young prospect off the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree. Mike McDaniel and Mike LaFleur’s names have been mentioned.
Brian Daboll
I’m hearing Eagles are also interested in Bills OC Brian Daboll
He has done great work with Bills QB Josh Allen pic.twitter.com/Z8qCCbI2p8

Daboll would be my #1 choice. The guy has done wonders with Josh Allen and that Buffalo offense and worked with Jalen Hurts at Alabama. He’d be good with either QB currently in the Eagles’ stable.
Doug taking a year off?
Source close to Doug Pederson said it wouldn't surprise to see the recently fired #Eagles coach take a year off. He might get intrigued by one of the HC openings but, as the source said, it's been a loooong year for Pederson.

I wouldn’t blame him if he did. He’s a Super Bowl champion. He’s 52 years old and had COVID earlier this year. It was a rough go in 2020 and he’d probably benefit from taking some time to just relax and collect himself.
Doug should chill out for a bit, hit the links, enjoy some ice cream. He’s earned a break.
