You hate to see this.

New York Giants fans are upset with Doug Pederson and the Philadelphia Eagles because the Birds didn’t try their hardest on Sunday night. They did not try to win the game, which would have sent Joe Judge and his team to the playoffs as NFC East champions.

Nevermind the fact that the Giants stink. They’re 6-10 and look ridiculous complaining about the Eagles’ decision to look out for their own best interests. If Giants players and fans are so bothered by this, then maybe winning more than six games and taking care of business themselves would have been preferable to being held hostage by a four-win Birds squad on Sunday night football.

And on top of that, you’ve got national media “football guys” crowing about the integrity of the game and ripping Doug Pederson for making a mockery of competition, as if the Jaguars and Jets were shining beacons of competitiveness this season. As if other teams don’t rest players or phone it in during week 17. It’s like re-living Sam Hinkie and the The Process all over again.
