Jakub Voracek Takes Sole Possession of 5th All-Time in Assists for Flyers, Records 700th NHL Point

The game is still going on, but some Flyers history was made Thursday night against the Boston Bruins. With just 2:30 remaining in the second period, Jakub Voracek dished a centering pass to James van Riemsdyk who did the rest:

That marked Voracek’s 396th career assist for the Orange & Black, giving him sole possession of fifth on the team’s all-time assists list:

After two quick goals from the Bruins, Voracek made yet another play, this time from just inside the blue line. The puck deflected off the skate of defenseman Travis Sanheim, who appeared on last week’s Snow The Goalie, to give Voracek 397 assists for the Flyers:

More importantly, it marked his 700th career point in the National Hockey League. He’s the 246th player in league history to record at least 700 points.
