Sixers vs. Kings Betting Pick (February 9, 2021)
On Tuesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers are on the road taking on the Sacramento Kings for a 10:00PM ET tipoff. The Sixers (17-7) are the top team in the Eastern Conference and are riding high coming off a 124-108 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Their hosts from Sacramento are in the midst of a four-game winning streak.
Let’s get into our Sixers-Kings betting preview, including odds, boosts, and picks.
Preview
The Sixers have gotten off to an excellent start this season and are in the midst of an 8-2 stretch over their past ten games. Philadelphia’s only loss in their last five games games against a shorthanded Portland Trail Blazers squad appears to be an anomaly, following their 124-108 victory over James Harden and the Brooklyn Nets. Sure, the Nets were without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, but the game was never as close as the final score might have otherwise indicated.

The Kings have been on a tear as of late, rattling off four consecutive wins over the New Orleans Pelicans, Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, and LA Clippers. De’Aaron Fox absolutely went off in the Kings’ 113-110 road win over the Clippers, who were once again without Paul George. That came a game after Nikola Jokič went off for 50 points against them, but the effort from Harrison Barnes, Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, and Richaun Holmes was enough to pull off a 119-114 victory over the Nuggets.
Despite being a .500 team, Sacramento isn’t a team to take lightly, especially with the Sixers traveling cross-country to play them.

Bets We Like With a Sixers Win
FiveThirtyEight gives the Sixers a 59% chance of winning with a -2 point line. Philadelphia’s implied win probability based on the moneyline is 64%.
Sixers to Win and Under 230.5 Points (+185, DraftKings)
The Sixers have won three consecutive games against Sacramento dating back to a March 15, 2019, meeting which saw Philadelphia prevail 123-114. In two games a season ago, the Sixers won both games by a combined 23 points. Although the Kings have been on a roll and Philadelphia has struggled to contain dynamic scoring guards like De’Aaron Fox, we expect the Sixers to win.
Looking at the recent over/under trends for the teams is a bit misleading. On the surface, it would appear the Sixers have been part of some barnburners in recent weeks. That simply hasn’t been the case. While the Sixers have seen the over hit in three of their last four games, the total points fell under 230.5 points in each of those three games:
- 1/31 @ Indiana (219 points)
- 2/3 @ Charlotte (229 points)
- 2/4 v. Portland (226 points)
Interestingly enough, the Sixers’ game against the Nets went under, but the teams combined for 232 points.
The Kings have seen the total points go under the threshold in three of their last five games, with their victory over the Denver Nuggets coming in as the only game in which they and their opponent totaled more than 230.5 points (233). Simply put, this game, should go under 230.5 points.

Bets We Like Independent of Outcome
Joel Embiid and De’Aaron Fox to Each Score 25+ Points (+125, BetMGM)
Joel Embiid and De’Aaron Fox have been on an absolute tear in recent games. Embiid has scored at least 28 points in each of his last eight games, including at least 33 in seven of those eight games. He’s averaging 34.7 points per game in the month of February and 29.3 points overall on the season (4th in the NBA).
De’Aaron Fox has been on a hot scoring streak over his last five games, scoring 26 or more points in four of his last five games, including a 36-point outburst against the Clippers on Sunday. For the Kings to have a chance to topple the Eastern Conference’s top team, Sacramento will need a big game out of their franchise point guard.
De’Aaron Fox Over 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (-175, DraftKings)
De’Aaron Fox was rewarded with a 5-year, $163 million max extension back in November and he’s lived up to the deal thus far, averaging 23 points and 6.5 assists per game, ranking him 24th and 15th in the NBA in each category, respectively. DraftKings Sportsbook has Fox to make over 1.5 three-point shots at -175 odds. This isn’t a 100% guarantee, but it’s about as good of an individual prop bet as you’ll find. Fox has hit at least two shots from deep in each of his last six games and 11 of his last 13 games overall. In the month of February, he’s averaging 2.8 3PM on 7.3 3PA per game.
Buddy Hield Over 25.5 Points, Rebounds, and Assists Combined (-107, DraftKings)
Buddy Hield is the Kings’ third-highest scorer this season, averaging 15.9 points per game. With Philadelphia likely looking to focus their defensive effort on slowing the blazing De’Aaron Fox, Hield could be in for a big night, especially from deep where he’s averaging nearly 11 attempts per game in the month of February. He’s scored at least 16 points in six of his last seven games, including 22 points in Sacramento’s win over the Clippers. He’s gone over 25.5 combined points, rebounds, and assists in six of his last seven games.
He’s been solid against the Sixers in the past. In two games against Philadelphia a season ago, Hield averaged 22.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. This bet is worth a look.
Sixers vs. Kings Prediction
Pick: This is game could realistically go either way with the Kings racking up impressive wins over the past week. Despite that, we believe the Sixers will win in a somewhat lower-scoring game. Take the Sixers to Win and Under 230.5 points. Also, take advantage of the Joel Embiid and De’Aaron Fox to both score 25+ points bet.
