We have… breaking hockey news! –
Transaction: We have placed defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere on waivers today.

It’s kind of crazy just to think about Ghost’s fall from grace, isn’t it? Here’s a guy who put up 52 assists just three seasons ago and looked like one of the best offensive D-men in the game. Then he dropped off the following year and found himself in and out of the lineup on a team where it seemed, at times, like he didn’t have a role.
Gostisbehere opened this season on the COVID list, which threw a wrench into a defensive unit that had already lost Matt Niskanen to an unexpected retirement. Between his $4.5 million cap hit, and Erik Gustafsson’s $3 million, you were scratching one of those guys nightly.
Interestingly enough, Ghost was the most open and honest with the media about the Flyers’ recent struggles. Makes you wonder if there was some kind of message sent from above, or if this facilitates something else, as Anthony is suggesting here:
Flyers place Ghost on waivers… I have to think it's step one to something bigger.
