Sixers vs. Kings Betting Pick (March 20, 2021)
On Saturday night, the Philadelphia 76ers will play host to the Sacramento Kings. The Sixers enter play at 28-13, which is the best record in the Eastern Conference by a half game over the Brooklyn Nets. The Kings come into this game at just 17-24 -one of three Western Conference teams with such a record- good for twelfth place in the Western Conference.
Let’s get into our Sixers-Kings betting preview, including odds, boosts, and picks.
Sixers vs. Kings Betting Pick (March 20, 2021)
The Philadelphia 76ers have adjusted to life without Joel Embiid quite well all things considered over their last three games. It all started with a 134-99 blowout of the San Antonio Spurs at home, followed by a closer 99-96 victory against the Knicks, before they took to the court against the Eastern Conference’s third seed Milwaukee Bucks. That is when their winning ways came to an end. Despite entering halftime with a 45-31 advantage, Milwaukee outscored Philadelphia 62-48 to force overtime and ended up winning 109-105.
There were encouraging takeaways from that contest for the Sixers, including Ben Simmons’ stellar defense against reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, as well as the fact that the Sixers held Milwaukee to just 93 points in regulation without Joel Embiid’s presence in the paint.

The Sacramento Kings have been on their own run of sorts, winning two games on the road against the Eastern Conference’s Washington Wizards (121-119) and Boston Celtics (107-96). The Kings have gone 5-5 in their last ten games, following a woeful 0-9 stretch that began with a 119-111 home loss to this Philadelphia 76ers squad. Sixers franchise center Joel Embiid put on an MVP performance in that one, racking up 25 points, pulling down 17 rebounds, and dishing out six assists. Without him in the Philadelphia lineup, expect Richaun Holmes and the Kings’ frontcourt to have a bigger performance, while De’Aaron Fox should have plenty of opportunities to finish at the rim. Plus, the Sixers will be without sharpshooter Seth Curry in this one as well, taking away a legitimate floor-spreading option.

FiveThirtyEight gives the Sixers a 76% chance of winning with a -7.5 point line. The oddsmakers are a little less bullish, with the Sixers’ implied win probability based on the moneyline at 67%.
Sixers to Win and Under 234.5 Points (+130, DraftKings Sportsbook)
On the surface, this game should be a relatively comfortable win for the Philadelphia 76ers, as they’re a better, deeper team. However, the absence of Joel Embiid is a more meaningful variable against a team that has an active big like Richaun Holmes gobbling up rebound opportunities he might not otherwise get. The Sixers will also need to find a way to replace Seth Curry’s shooting from deep. Although he’s had some inconsistent stretches this season, opposing defenses need to account for him beyond the arc as the best shooters in the game can get hot in a hurry and flip a game on its head.
Still, Philadelphia should be able to pull out a win at home where they sport a league-best 18-4 record.
As for the under, 230.5 points is a bit low to feel rock solid, especially given the variance this game could have with Curry’s unavailability alongside Embiid. As such, we’d recommend getting in on an alternate points line of 234.5 and taking the under. The Sixers’ last five games have gone under 234.5 total points, while the Kings have seen that same trend in three of their last five games. To that end, the Kings’ total overall has gone under in each of their last five games.
If you believe the Sixers will win and the total will fall under 230.5 points, you can get that at DraftKings Sportsbook at +165 odds.

De’Aaron Fox to Record Over 32.5 Points and Assists Combined (-115, BetMGM)
De’Aaron Fox has had an excellent season for the Sacramento Kings, easily justifying the five-year, $163 million deal he signed at the end of November. His 23.9 points are the 21st-highest total in the NBA, while his 7.5 assists per game are good for 11th in the league.
In the month of March, Fox is averaging 29 points and 7.9 assists per game. He’s gone over 32.5 combined points and assists in each of his last six games:
- 3/4/21 @ POR: 32 points & 12 assists (44 total)
- 3/11/21 v. HOU: 30 points & 9 assists (39 total)
- 3/13/21 @ ATL: 32 points & 6 assists (38 total)
- 3/15/21 @ CHA: 29 points & 8 assists (37 total)
- 3/17/21 @WSH: 28 points & 7 assists (35 total)
- 3/19/21 @ BOS: 29 points & 5 assists (34 total)
In his lone game against the Sixers this season, Fox dropped 34 points and 10 assists. If you’re looking for a fantastic player prop independent of outcome, get in on this trend.
