Doc Rivers has “Probably Gained 15 Pounds” Thanks to Philly’s Food Scene

The Sixers obliterated the Hawks last night. Obliterated the Thunder on Monday night. We didn’t recap either game because there honestly wasn’t much to say. Let’s get the playoffs going and be done with this regular season farce already. We’re hungry for meaningful postseason basketball.

Speaking of hungry, Doc Rivers has really been enjoying the local restaurant scene, according to him:

When asked to name some of his favorite spots, Rivers refrained because he didn’t want to “piss off any of the other restaurants.”

“A lot of Italian food, let me just say that,” the head coach offered.

And now… I’m hungry. The worst part about moving to the suburbs from the city is the food scene. By far.

But here’s the thing; it’s not even that suburban food is shitty, because it’s not. You can find good restaurants in some of these spots like Phoenixville and Media. The problem is that Philly food is THAT GOOD, which makes everything else look and taste bland in comparison.

If I had to guess, Doc is hanging out in that Broad and Spruce vicinity. Great Italian jawns over there. Giorgio on Pine, Vetri, Nonna’s, etc. If anybody is gonna be in the vicinity today, grab me some fettucini alfredo, throw some blackened chicken and sauteed mushrooms in there, and drop if off in Lansdale. I’ll meet you at the Royal Farms right off the Northeast Extension exit.
