90 mile radius for the games, according to Spike Eskin. No local blackouts. No cost.
If you don’t know what the hell “Audacy” is, it’s the new name of the company formerly known as “Entercom,” which rebranded on Monday. The suits at 2400 Market did this probably because they felt like they needed to reflect their evolution from a radio company to a multi-platform audio giant instead.
Kyle thinks this is dumb, because they are getting rid of the Radio.com domain, which was catchy and very easy to remember:
This is, perhaps, the single stupidest thing I've ever seen in branding. At least since redirected https://t.co/LoxRpko361. RADIO(!!!).com had to be the single most valuable domain in the business… and so, they changed the name to something people can't pronounce or spell. https://t.co/db8dIiH0Fu

If you asked Audacy, the people over there would probably point out that they aren’t just a radio company these days. Sure, they own 94 WIP and 1210 WPHT and the rest of the cluster that was bought from CBS in 2017, but they’ve made significant forays into podcasting and other digital audio formats. It makes sense to re-brand for purposes of practicality, but there’s something to be said for the value and simplicity of “radio.com.”
