Phillies Mask Warning/Snitch Update
Last week, Philadelphia Health Commissioner Thomas Farley noted that he received a complaint about mask use, or lack thereof, at Citizens Bank Park. There wasn’t much offered other than confirmation that the city was “not happy” with the situation and communicated that to the Phillies.
We originally surmised that somebody snitched, but upon further review all you had to do was watch the games on TV and you’d see mask violators throughout the park. Some people had them down around their mouth or weren’t even wearing the thing at all. And then last night, a maskless Zack Hample ate shit while trying to shag a home run ball that landed in the seats.
Now we’ve got an update from the city:

Farley:
“We communicated with the Phillies and they said they’re going to be diligent about enforcing mask use, and that’s where it stands.”
Mayor Jim Kenney:
“I’ve been to a couple of games, I see during every stoppage of play the ushers walk down the stairs from the stands, with a sign that clearly says ‘mask up.’ I think they’re doing a good job.”
Alright, so it seems like we’re on relatively good terms here. Steady ground. Let’s continue to wear those masks and act like good little boys and girls and then we’ll get closer to 100% capacity. Let’s all play our part and blah blah.
