On Saturday night, the Washington Wizards will play host to the Philadelphia 76ers for Game 3 of their first round series in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Let’s take a closer look at the top Sixers vs. Wizards Game 3 player prop picks and make some predictions for this May 29, 2021 NBA Playoffs matchup.

Sixers vs. Wizards Game 3 Player Props (May 29, 2021)

The Philadelphia 76ers enter Saturday night’s game against the Washington Wizards with a strong 2-0 series lead following a dominant 120-95 win on Wednesday night. Russell Westbrook left Game 2 early with an injury, while Bradley Beal and Co. gave their best effort to keep the game close, but it was all for naught as Philadelphia coasted to a 25-point victory. As the first round series shift to the nation’s capital, one has to wonder whether or not the Wizards could overcome the potential absence of Westbrook, whose status remains questionable as of Saturday afternoon.

The in Wednesday’s Game 2 loss, the Wizards were led by superstar guard Bradley Beal, who shot 14-28 from the field on his way to a 33 point performance. Rui Hachimura (11), Daniel Gafford (11), Westbrook (10), and Ish Smith (10) were the only other players to post double-digit points for Washington. Sixers point guard Ben Simmons’ aggressive play early on led him to an excellent line of 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists. Joel Embiid matched his 22 points in just 26 minutes of action, while Tobias Harris contributed 19 of his own.

Will Washington pull off the upset at home or will Philadelphia take a stranglehold of this series with a victory?

Tobias Harris to Record 6+ Rebounds (-174, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Sixers forward Tobias Harris has continued to take his game to the next level for Philadelphia, providing a legitimate second scoring option alongside MVP finalist Joel Embiid. In Game 1, Harris racked up 29 first half points en route to a 37-point performance while Embiid sat with foul trouble. In Game 2, Harris was lights out from the field, shooting 9-13 (69.2%) in the contest, finishing with 19 points in just 23:17 of action in a 25-point blowout victory.

While you can get in on Harris to score 20+ points at -154 odds with FanDuel Sporstbook, there’s potential variance that could see Harris finish with 15 points as much as he could crack 24. Instead, it’s worth taking a look at Harris’ rebounding trends in this series and this season overall.

After pulling down 6 rebounds in Game 1, Harris was an even more impressive beast on the boards in Game 2, bringing down 9 rebounds in almost 14 fewer minutes. Including his final regular season game, Harris has recorded at least six rebounds in three consecutive contests. Perhaps an even more encouraging trend has been Harris’ ability to rebound against the Wizards throughout the season. He had 8 rebounds in the first regular season meeting between the teams, 7 in their second matchup, and 8 in their third contest in just 23:28 of game action.

Joel Embiid to Record Over 2.5 Assists (-130, BetMGM)

It might seem a bit odd to think of Joel Embiid as a facilitator or at least one worthy of putting money on as a recommended player prop for Game 3, but he’s been one in this series, as well as against Washington in general all season. Embiid has dished out three assists in each of the first two games of this series, despite playing in roughly 28 minutes per game.

After dishing out just two assists in the regular season opener against the Wizards, Embiid had five helpers in their second meeting on January 6 and three assists on March 12 before sustaining a bone bruise in his knee that cost him 10 games and likely the league’s MVP award.

At -130 odds, the potential payout isn’t going to come with a ridiculous multiplier, but the series trend and that of Embiid against the Wizards this season overall should give a bit of comfort in considering this Over 2.5 Assists market.

Bradley Beal to Score More Points Than Joel Embiid (-118, DraftKings Sportsbook)

On one hand it might seem a bit crazy to bet against MVP finalist Joel Embiid, but when it comes to scoring the rock, Bradley Beal is as elite as they come. Beal was on track to win the league’s scoring title until a hamstring injury cost him three of his team’s final four games. On a positive note for Beal and his team, any concerns of lingering ill effects of the injury appear to have dissipated as he’s racked up 33 points in each of the first two games of this playoff series. Keep in mind that prior to sustaining his hamstring injury, Beal dropped 50 points on the Pacers after racking up 42 and 28 points agains the Bucks and Raptors, respectively. Plus, he put up a ridiculous 60 points against the Sixers in their second meeting of the regular season.

Embiid is no slouch as a scorer, putting up 30 points in Game 1 and 22 points in Game 2. The issue at hand is that the Sixers have been so dominant in large stretches of this series that Embiid hasn’t cracked 30 minutes of game action in either game. On the flip side, Beal played 40:59 in Game 1 and 34:36 in Game 2. With Russell Westbrook’s injury severity uncertain as of Saturday afternoon, it stands to reason that Beal should get even more field goal attempts than the 25.5 he’s averaged thus far in the series.
