According to Statcast, the Phillies entered the bottom of the ninth inning in last night’s contest against the Washington Nationals with an 8.7% win probability.

By the time Bryce Harper walked with one out to put runners on the corners, that probability still stood at just 20.1%.

But with one Andrew McCutchen swing of the bat, the game was over, and the Phillies had stolen one of their most improbable victories of the season to move within 3.5 games of the Mets.

Much like McCutchen, both Tom McCarthy and Scott Franzke crushed the moment.

First, McCarthy’s call on NBC Sports Philadelphia:

Saw a few people on Twitter criticizing the “rock, paper, scissors” part of the call as McCutchen headed home. I don’t know, I liked it. Thought it was a fun touch.

Anyway, here’s the radio call by Scott Franzke and Larry Andersen. Thanks to Nick Piccone from Philly Influencer. He always does everyone a solid by clipping the big-time radio calls.
