Carson Wentz Foot Update: Eagles Gonna Get Screwed
Carson Wentz foot injury update:
That was fast. #Colts QB Carson Wentz will have surgery to repair his foot, per coach Frank Reich. He’s out up to 12 weeks, but could be much less. They will remove a bone in his foot.

Okay… so it’s three months we’re thinking, but could be less. Three months from now is November 2nd, so in the worst-case scenario he would miss eight games, which is almost 50% of the season. That means the Birds are probably gonna be dicked out of that conditional first round draft pick, which triggers if Carson plays 75% of the Colts’ snaps or 70% with a playoff appearance. It will convey as a second rounder instead.
And apparently the foot injury is old? What the hell? –
Breaking: Frank Reich says Carson Wentz had an old foot injury dating back to perhaps high school according to doctors. Over time, the broken bone came loose and caused pain. The decision has been made to undergo surgery and remove it. 5-12 weeks.

Five to 12 weeks? What kind of time frame is that? That’s literally a two-month window separating the front end and back end. That doesn’t make any sense.
And how does one play through all of college and five NFL seasons without anybody detecting a foot injury dating back to high school? The Eagles dodged a bullet offloading Wentz when they did. What a nightmare this would have been if he was still a Bird. Jesus Christ.
Hope you’re ready for a second-round pick, because that first rounder ain’t triggering. But if the Colts stink, it might be a decent second rounder. Silver lining there.
