Saw this yesterday and thought it was fake, but apparently it’s real.

Not only is Colin Kaepernick in Madden 22, but he was given an 81 rating, which is higher thank Kirk Cousins, Justin Herbert, and a couple of other good quarterbacks.

From Outkick:

Colin Kaepernick hasn’t taken a snap in the NFL since January 1, 2017 when the 49ers lost to the Seahawks 25-23 to wrap up the 2016 season. That hasn’t stopped the Madden video game franchise from including the guy in its game, including the ’22 version where the 33-year-old has a higher rating than Justin Herbert, the 2020 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Kirk Cousins and Trevor Lawrence.

Apropos, this was pretty good:

For whatever reason, Kaepernick is not listed on the official EA website when you go over the player ratings. But he’s ranked higher than the following guys when you look over the rest of the QB list:

  • Ben Roethlisberger -78
  • Trevor Lawrence – 78
  • Jared Goff – 77
  • Joe Burrow – 77
  • Cam Newton  – 76
  • Jimmy Garoppolo  – 76
  • Ryan Fitzpatrick – 75
  • Zach Wilson – 75
  • Justin Fields – 74
  • Trey Lance  74
  • Jameis Winston – 73
  • Teddy Bridgewater – 73
  • Tua Tagovailoa – 73
  • Andy Dalton  – 72
  • Carson Wentz – 72
  • Daniel Jones  – 72
  • Jalen Hurts – 71
  • Mac Jones  – 71
  • Sam Darnold  – 71
  • Drew Lock – 70
  • Nick Foles – 70
  • Gardner Minshew II – 69

There are multiple starters in there. Would you take Kaepernick over any of them? Over Burrow? Goff? Danny Dimes? Nick Foles?

Rhetorical question.
