Don't Tell Kyle Scott, But Kyle Lowry Appears Headed to Miami
The Maestro is understandably busy these days. He’s the legal sports betting mastermind. He stepped away from the keyboard but still runs the show as more of a Crossing Broad spiritual leader. He’s like the British royal family and the rest of us are the Members of Parliament. They call ’em ‘MPs’ over there in England.
Kyle Scott will, however, check in whenever somebody from Villanova does something, and it doesn’t have to be much at all. Mikal Bridges could go 1-2 on the evening with three rebounds and he’d be saying “should have kept Bridges.”
The same goes for Kyle Lowry, who the Maestro has wanted in Philadelphia for years now, but it appears as though we are closing the door forever on the “Lowry comes home” storyline.
The Miami Heat are positioning themselves to become front-runners to land Kyle Lowry in a sign-and-trade agreement once discussions are permitted to begin with the opening of NBA free agency on Monday, sources told ESPN.
Lowry has long been intrigued with joining Heat star Jimmy Butler and the Miami organization, and now Miami has maneuvered to have two key elements of a possible sign-and-trade package — guard Goran Dragic and forward Precious Achiuwa — to offer the Raptors once talks can ensue at 6 p.m. ET Monday, sources said.
Maybe Lowry is intrigued by that HEAT CULTURE, which really just means you get to live in Miami and not pay income tax. You get to chill on South Beach, which Lowry honestly deserves after a near-decade of freezing his behind off with the poutine eaters up there in Canada. And that’s not an insult, “poutine eaters,” is a compliment because the Canadian poutine is out of this world. It’s so good.
Thing about Lowry going to Miami is that it will set the market and tone for the rest of free agency. Early dominoes falling helps facilitate everything else, and the Sixers need the market to move in order to determine what the actual hell is going on with Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard. If they want max return for Ben Simmons, then those two guys are the best you can do.
