The Eagles, Who are 2021 Joint Practice Champions, Will Reportedly Rest Starters for Preseason Finale
BIG Eagles game tonight vs. the Jets.
Is it a must win?
Nah, it’s actually entirely useless. A feckless exercise. Everybody kind of assumed the starters would sit and here comes Mike Garafolo to essentially confirm that:
The #Eagles wrap up the preseason tonight against the #Jets and, based on what I’m hearing, they will once again rest most, if not all, of their starters. They had some hot, humid, physical joint practices this week, and it sounds like they’re happy with the work they got there.

No reason to put those guys on the field. The starters used to sit the entirety of the fourth preseason game in years past (when it was four games instead of three), so nobody should be surprised by this.
The Birds just seem to be placing a lot of value on those four joint practice sessions held with the Patriots and Jets. They are satisfied with the work that was done. They’ve reportedly seen enough. They went 4-0 in joint practices to become “world fucking champions.” So put those starters on ice, keep ’em healthy, and let’s focus on the season opener in Atlanta. This whole preseason approach was annoying, but not surprising.
Go Birds.
