WILMINGTON – OCTOBER 22, 2021 – The Delaware Blue Coats today announced that Prosper Karangwa has been named the team’s general manager. Karangwa retains the role of Vice President, Player Personnel for the Philadelphia 76ers while expanding his duties to lead Blue Coats basketball operations.
Prior to joining the 76ers front office in October 2020, Karangwa most recently served as Director of Scouting with the Orlando Magic, where he worked since 2012. Karangwa played a key role in Orlando’s draft preparation, in addition to talent evaluation, information-gathering and process improvement.
The Blue Coats also announced the addition of God Shammgod, Jr. as an assistant coach. Shammgod, Jr. most recently spent two seasons as an assistant coach on the IUP men’s basketball staff. He helped guide the Crimson Hawks to a 28-2 record in 2019-20 including PSAC West regular season and PSAC tournament titles – enough to secure the No. 1 seed for the NCAA Atlantic Region Championship.

No clue that God Shammgod even had a son. And he was coaching in Pennsylvania? Pretty cool.

Beyond having the greatest sports name of all time, God had ridiculous handles. He has a crossover named after him, which is basically when you show the ball then bring it back with the off hand instead of the strong-side hand. Maybe that’s a poor way of explaining it.
