The Giants will try to get off the mat Sunday afternoon and halt the Eagles’ recent resurgence in the process. Even in the midst of immense struggles, the Giants should be plenty motivated to issue the Eagles some payback after Philly’s Week 17 tank job last season that left Joe Judge’s team out of the playoffs. Plenty of betting action is expected on this NFC East showdown, including bets on player props markets.

Let’s jump into this NFL Week 12 matchup with a look at the best Eagles vs. Giants player props picks.

Eagles vs. Giants Player Props Picks

Jalen Hurts Anytime Touchdown Scorer

It’s becoming difficult to imagine anyone completely stopping Jalen Hurts successfully running with the football.

At this point in his young career, Hurts’ offensive numbers line up favorably with Lamar Jackson’s. Last week, Hurts carried 18 times for 69 yards and three rushing touchdowns against an elite Saints rush defense. Limiting Hurts’ running lanes will obviously be a priority for the Giants here, but does it matter?

We tend to think it doesn’t.

Interestingly, the Eagles average the NFL’s the most rushing yards per game and have four running backs who each have over 40 carries this season, yet none of them has topped three touchdown runs. Meanwhile, Hurts has eight rushing scores already, which is three more than any other quarterback and fifth among all players.

Hurts has 114 carries, the most by a quarterback, for 618 yards, second only to Jackson. No other Philadelphia back has even reached 80 carries or 400 yards on the ground. That means Hurts is the most likely guy to run the ball and to score a touchdown for the Eagles and gets to play against the league’s 22nd ranked run-stopping unit and ninth worst scoring defense.

Interestingly, only one quarterback has run for a touchdown against New York this season, but that is more understandable when you consider the Giants’ schedule. Sunday will be the first time New York faces a quarterback currently in the top six for rushing yards by a QB.

And the opportunity should be there. Hurts has run the ball 10 or more times in five of his last six games. Worth noting, all eight of his rushing touchdowns have come in games where he has run the ball at least nine times. With the Eagles aware that New York has only allowed six rushing touchdowns to opposing backs this season, we expect Hurts to be the primary run game option when they’re in close.

Evan Engram Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Evan Engram is not a player you might look to as a huge touchdown threat. After all, he has not topped three touchdowns in a season since 2017. He only has two scores this season, but despite missing two games he still sits third on the team in both targets and receptions. There are several reasons to believe Engram might notch his third score of the season in this one.

New York tight ends have only scored three touchdowns all season, but those three have all come in the last three games. Furthermore, many believe that Jason Garrett’s firing will unleash a more creative offensive game plan for the Giants moving forward, which could spark new and increased chances for the starting tight end.

The Eagles struggle immensely with opposing tight ends in every facet of the game. Opposing tight ends have been the leading or second-leading receiver against Philadelphia nine times this season, with every team having at least one tight end landing in the top four leading receivers.

Philadelphia has allowed nine scores by tight ends in the team’s last nine games. Yet, despite facing teams with George Kittle, Travis Kelce, Darren Waller, T.J. Hockenson, and Noah Fant, Philadelphia did not allow a single touchdown to any of those stars. Instead, the tight ends with touchdowns against the Eagles were Dalton Schultz, Jody Fortson, Tommy Tremble, O.J. Howard, Foster Moreau, Stephen Anderson, Donald Parham, and Adam Trautman. This is far from a star-studded or overtly athletic cast and you would have to put Evan Engram near the top of that group from a talent perspective.

Keep in mind, the Giants could be without tight end Kyle Rudolph. His absence would likely mean another 90 percent or higher snap rate for Engram, who reached that number in Week 10. With New York producing just five rushing touchdowns this season, no more than one in a game, and going three straight games without one, expect Engram to be on the field a ton and to have his fair share of chances to score.

Philadelphia Eagles Defense Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Here is another prop with the potential for a fantastic payout. This Philadelphia defense has produced four scores already this season, tied for the most defensive scores in the league thus far. In fact, three of those four defensive touchdowns have come in the team’s last four games. Notably, the Eagles won each of those three games.

New York has seen just one opposing team post a defensive score, but Daniel Jones’ history says that relatively low number is more of an anomaly than the norm.

The Giants offensive line remains a mess. Jones has been sacked 21 times this season, tied for 12th most in the league, and he has also fumbled the ball seven times already this season — the third most of any player. If you watched the Giants’ disastrous loss last week, you may have noticed Jones was under siege throughout. The point is, consistent pressure and Jones’ carelessness with the football could be the right mix for an opportunistic Eagles defense.
