Here's an Absolutely Ridiculous Eagles Stat
The Eagles are the #1 running team in the National Football League. Hard to believe it after what we witnessed to begin the year.
At 165 yards per game, they are averaging more on the ground than Indy, Cleveland, Tennessee, and Baltimore, who are the other teams in the top five.
Behold:
The Eagles have rushed for 1,569 yards before contact this season.
Meaning, their O-line has created more yardage than 16 teams have gained overall.
That is preposterous.

Trench warfare baby. The offensive line is so good. These guys are opening up holes that your grandmother could push her walker through. And then she’d lower the shoulder and run over a linebacker for some yards after contact.
Speaking of which, the Eagles are good in that department, too. Miles Sanders has 272 yards after contact and Jordan Howard has 162. Jalen Hurts has 131 and Boston Scott 120. Kenneth Gainwell is sitting on 87.
Per rush, that’s:
- Sanders: 2.1 YAC
- Howard: 2.5 YAC
- Hurts: 1.0 YAC
- Scott: 2.0 YAC
- Gainwell: 1.6 YAC
All very good numbers. Ground and pound all day long.
