Pat McAfee Signed a Humongous Deal and Then Promptly Donated Millions to Charity
Pat McAfee is the man, and not just because he’s a WVU guy. This week he signed a four-year deal with FanDuel worth $120 million, which makes FanDuel the exclusive betting partner for his uber-popular show.
“We just got paid an absurd amount of money,” McAfee announced on his Youtube channel. “Someone like me is not supposed to be getting this kind of money.”
“We want to keep the show how it is,” McAfee continued. “We’ll be doing it hopefully in a bigger way — they’re giving us money to go on live show events — I can’t f*cking wait for it.”
McAfee says he’s already donated a portion of his $120 million deal to various charities.
Indeed, McAfee, a Pittsburgh native who made two Pro Bowls punting for the Colts, did give a ton of money away already. He donated six million to youth programs, children’s hospitals, domestic violence shelters, and other charities:
The @PatMcAfeeShow video announcing his deal is incredible. Dude just gave his parents $1 million+, pledged millions to multiple charities, and bonused all “the boys” (his producers) $250,000. His media rise is one of the coolest stories in the history of entertainment.

It’s a great American/independent success story. McAfee transitioned to content after his NFL retirement, put together a fantastic show, and grew his audience organically. He brought on great guests, offered up a compelling and consistent product, and the whole thing ballooned from there.
Good for him, and the funny thing is that he earned $15 million during his NFL career. The FanDuel deal pays him TWICE THAT ANNUALLY. Think about that for a minute.
