Carson Wentz Doesn't Exactly Get a Ringing Endorsement from Colts' GM
Colts’ GM Chris Ballard is speaking to the media and said this today:
Chris Ballard on Carson Wentz: ‘At the time, we felt it was the right decision…I’m not going to make a comment on who is going to be here next year and who is not.’

Woof. Talk about a ringing endorsement. That’s about what you’d expect from Ballard after the Colts got their doors blown off by the two-win Jacksonville Jaguars to miss out on a playoff spot.
Carson signed a four year, $128 million extension with the Eagles on June 10th, 2019. He hits the cap at $28 million next season and there’s a potential out NEXT offseason, according to Spotrac, so it looks like Indy is stuck with him for at least another year.
Wentz threw 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season, logging 3,563 yards in the process. That offense ran mostly on Jonathan Taylor, and while Carson played some good games in the middle portion of the season, you just saw the same untimely gaffes pop up. It was like watching a repeat of 2020 at times.
Anyway, Eagles won the trade quite easily. Go Birds.
