Eagles vs. Cowboys on Saturday night in an ultimately meaningless game. It will help determine playoff seeding, but both teams are in, and both have COVID absences, so it seems very highly likely that we get a bunch of backups for this one.

Here’s the final injury report put out by the Birds on Thursday:

Sanders is out, but we already knew that. Johnson and Dickerson are questionable but should not play anyway, since they are starting on the offensive line.

In addition, the injured reserve list includes:

  • G Brandon Brooks
  • T/G Jack Driscoll
  • DE Brandon Graham
  • G Isaac Seumalo
  • LB Davion Taylor
  • TE Jason Croom

And your current COVID list, as of Friday morning:

  • DT Fletcher Cox
  • LB/DE Genard Avery
  • S Marcus Epps
  • TE Dallas Goedert
  • OL Nate Herbig
  • RB Jordan Howard
  • C Jason Kelce
  • CB Avonte Maddox
  • S Rodney McLeod
  • RB Boston Scott
  • LB Alex Singleton
  • TE Jack Stoll

Assuming none of the guys listed above play, here’s our feeble attempt at putting together a chart of players who are available and should be involved, be it depth players or dudes pulled from the practice squad:

OFFENSE

  • QB – Gardner Minshew, Reid Sinnett
  • line – Andre Dillard, Sua Opeta, Le’Raven Clark, Jack Anderson, Brett Toth, Kayode Awosika, Luke Juriga, Casey Tucker
  • TE – Tyree Jackson, Dick Rod, Noah Togiai
  • WR – Greg Ward, John Hightower, JJAW, Jalen Reagor? (would sit DeVonta Smith but play Reagor, try to get him some catches)
  • RB – Kenneth Gainwell, Jason Huntley, Kerryon Johnson

DEFENSE

  • DTs – Milton Williams, Marlon Tuipulotu, Hassan Ridgeway, Marvin Wilson, Raequan Williams (definitely sitting Javon Hargrave)
  • DEs – Ryan Kerrigan, Tarron Jackson, Cameron Malveaux, Matt Leo
  • Linebackers – Shaun Bradley, Patrick Johnson, JaCoby Stevens, Patrick Elliss
  • cornerbacks and safeties – Craig James, Zech McPhearson, Tay Gowan, Josiah Scott, Andre Chachere, K’Von Wallace, Kary Vincent Jr, Mac McCain, Jared Mayden

Keep in mind that the Eagles get more practice squad elevations based on the number of COVID absences. It’s feasible that you’ll see them go deeper into the reserves for that reason.

But we’re already going pretty deep down the depth chart here. There are plenty of starters available, but if you sit them all down, then we’re looking at the likes of Tyree Jackson, Ryan Kerrigan, Patrick Johnson, and Zech McPhearson out there. The offense does have some pieces in Kenny Gainwell and Tyree Jackson and a good backup QB, so we’ll see how it goes. If the Eagles play it the way we think they will, it’s gonna look like a preseason game.
