Albert Breer at Sports Illustrated does a weekly mailbag and he gave an interesting answer on where he thinks Russell Wilson will be playing in 2022:

From David Kromelow (@dkrom59): Where would you expect Russell Wilson to play in 2022?

David, my sense is all of that remains in flux, and Wilson is open to exploring his options.

As I see it, Seahawks owner Jody Allen is the X-factor. I’ve heard she’s for keeping Wilson—which wouldn’t exactly be a wild train of thought for an owner. The question has been how badly, and what it’ll mean if Wilson, eventually, becomes more forceful about seeking a new home. Meanwhile, from a team-building standpoint, it’s fair to surmise that this might actually be an ideal time to move Wilson, while he’s still relatively young (at 33) and has two years left on his contract (that’s what Matthew Stafford had left when he was traded).

If I had to guess, I’d say he’ll eventually get moved. And I’d have said the destination was going to be the Saints a month ago. Now that Sean Payton’s gone, let’s put him in the NFC East … to the Eagles. In a way, it’d be a sort of redemptive move for Howie Roseman, who was part of a front office that planned to take Wilson in the third round in 2012, only to have Seattle scoop him up earlier in the round.

No, this couldn’t happen! No way the Eagles would mortgage their entire 1st round for a 33 year old QB! He would never waive his no-trade clause to come here!

Or would he…

Does Howie Roseman finally get his white whale? According to Albert Breer, if Wilson is actually traded, he will. Breer was all over the friction between the Eagles and Carson Wentz last year so I believe he’s at least a little plugged into the organization. I think the New York Giants are the favorite if Russ gets moved. They have enough draft capital, you know Ciara wants to be in New York, and Russ would easily wave his no-trade clause to play for Brian Daboll. He’ll feel right at home in New York with a swiss cheese O-Line and revolving door of wide receivers he’ll turn into fantasy stars.

If you’re the Seahawks though, wouldn’t you prefer Jalen Hurts over Daniel Jones? A QB who still has time to develop on a team controlled deal vs. a guy with small hands and still dresses like he’s an intern at Comcast. Make this work Howie. Go get your Moby Dick. Maybe Jeffrey Lurie will go back to his roots as hot shot movie producer and he’ll green light Moby Dickhead as a feature length film in 400 theaters all around PA, IMAX, and on Peacock:
