On The BIG Podcast with Shaq, Shaquille O’Neal talked about Ben Simmons sliding in his DMs regarding his comments on TNT last Thursday:

These were the comments that got Ben Simmons all bent out of shape:

Nowhere in that clip was Shaq unfair. He and Charles Barkley used to call Joel Embiid soft any chance they got. When Embiid was asked about it he said, “They’re right.”

How does Ben Simmons respond? He slides into Shaq’s DMs and wonders how he can be so hard on him when they’re “LSU brothers”. LSU brothers? Ben Simmons had a cup of coffee with LSU. Ben Simmons was your freshman year roommate who didn’t come back the second semester and never told you. Ben Simmons didn’t even explore the entire campus while he was there. Ben Simmons went to LSU like Frank Gore was a Philadelphia Eagle.

What stuck out to me the most was later in the clip when Shaq’s co-host assumes Ben doesn’t think any of this is his fault and Shaq agrees. Absolutely zero accountability in the Simmons household. If I’m Maya Jama I’m calling off the engagement. What’s it going to be like when Ben forgets to do the dishes and she reprimands him? I imagine he saunters down to his gaming bunker, turns into “Simmo the Savage”, and goes to a world where Maya Jama and dishes don’t exist. A Call of Duty lobby.
