It turns out that James Harden’s track record as a regular season superstar and playoff journeyman followed him to Philadelphia. It was a regular season game in Philadelphia on Thursday night, but the atmosphere given the whole Ben Simmons situation and the fact that the game was nationally televised made it feel a lot like a playoff game. Harden was terrible. He had 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and four turnovers. Essentially, he posted a Tobias Harris line in a game that demanded him to post a James Harden line.
One of the narratives emerging from this game is that the Sixers would do well to steer clear of the Nets in the playoffs because the Nets match up so well against the Sixers. Sure, whatever, but Thursday night’s game raises a much more troubling question: Who can the Sixers reliably beat in a seven-game playoff series? On Thursday night’s evidence, not the Nets, not the Milwaukee Bucks, not the Miami Heat, not the Boston Celtics…are we really headed for another second-round exit after everything that happened this season?
We know this much — rolling the Orlando Magic tonight won’t make anyone feel any better, but losing to the Magic or even playing them close could trigger more alarm bells.

It’s that last half rebound that makes this play an under. Embiid has posted more than 12 rebounds in only two of his last seven starts. At 11.5, this would be an over play. We also have to factor in the possibility that the Sixers put this game away early and do some load management for Embiid in the late stages.
