Holy Shit, the Eagles got James Bradberry
Had to triple check to make sure this wasn’t a fake Rap Sheet account:
Sources: Former #Giants Pro Bowl CB James Bradberry has agreed to terms with the #Eagles on a 1-year deal for $10M. A big-time post-draft addition, as Bradberry lands in a perfect spot.

Wow. I’m stunned. I can’t believe he only took a one-year deal. Did he seek revenge on the Giants for their salary cap malpractice? Is that why he stayed in the NFC East?
This is a huge deal for the Birds. Bradberry straddles the CB1/CB2 line and alongside Darius Slay might form the best CB tandem in the NFC. He didn’t have a fantastic 2021 season, but his 2020 was superb and the experts like him in a zone coverage scheme, which is what we saw frequently from Jonathan Gannon in year number one.
With the addition, the Eagles secondary now looks like this:
- CB1 – Darius Slay
- CB2 – James Bradberry
- slot corner – Avonte Maddox
- SS – Anthony Harris
- FS – Marcus Epps
That safety group still needs some work, but the Eagles are high on Marcus Epps and Harris is only here on another one-year deal. That $10 million for Bradberry pretty much fills out the salary cap for this year.
We can officially be excited about this defense. Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean, and now James Bradberry. Let’s fuckin’ go.
EDIT 1 –
James Bradberry’s one-year deal with the Eagles will pay him $7.5 million, including $7.25 million guaranteed, and another $2.5 million in upside, bringing the total value of the deal to $10 milllion, per source.
