Monday morning drop:

I would assume this is the Mike Missanelli replacement show announcement. Not sure what else it would be.

We reported back on June 1st that Beasley was lining up Tyrone Johnson, Hunter Brody, and Ricky Bottalico as the trio coming in for Mike. Since then, I haven’t heard anything different. Ricky is expected to work from a remote studio, which apparently is being built at NBC Sports Philadelphia’s HQ, and Jen Scordo I believe is staying on as a fourth chair/updates person, though that I’m not 100% sure on. I am about 88.7% sure Jen is staying. The show will continue to be simulcasted on television.

Why the hold up? It’s July 11th and this announcement isn’t taking place until the 13th. I can’t say for certain, but these types of talent negotiations are lengthy and detailed. There’s a lot of specific contract language that needs to be worked out. There are sometimes conflicts based on other gigs and/or side hustles. In Brodes’ case, for example, maybe they gotta figure out what to do with his YouTube channel, right? Can he do content on that platform if he goes full-time with the Fanatic? Or with Ricky Bo, you gotta navigate schedule conflict if the Phillies are playing an afternoon game.

I don’t know for sure if those items were hold ups, they’re just examples I came up with off the top of my head. Tyrone I’m sure has zero conflict since he’s already full time with the Fanatic. He can’t be the source of the hold up. Regardless, whomever comes in to replace Mike, they gotta get this show up and running this summer because football season is right around the corner and the Fanatic’s fall/winter season as the radio partner for the Sixers and Flyers will be starting sooner rather than later.
