Shazam 2 is a superhero movie filmed in Philadelphia. In one of the trailer scenes (about 1:41 in) a dragon pops out of the same spot where Chooch hugged Brad Lidge after winning the 2008 World Series:

If the Phils lost Monday night, a lot of people would be wishing this was real. Thanks to Bryson Stott we can instead laugh – for now. What I’m most interested in from this trailer is how this this knockoff Tastykake truck figures into the plot:

I don’t see this scene going down as one of the greatest ever filmed in a baseball stadium, but we’ll see if it can crack my list:

The Town – Fenway Park

Plenty of people would think the best scene at Fenway Park would be something from Fever Pitch. Not me. The bank robbery and shootout scene was the perfect ending to a movie. Just 15 minutes of non-stop anxiety watching this.

Fergie remember who clipped ya nuts for ya.

Anger Management – Yankee Stadium

Chill, Rocket. Goosfraba. Goosfraba.

You can do it! Give her a five second frencher!

How the hell did Rudy Giuliani go from the coolest mayor in the country to giving press conferences outside of a landscaping company in Northeast Philly?

Sandlot – Dodger Stadium

The Jet stealing home is a great ending to a classic movie. I love that they decided not to re-shoot after the The Jet goes feet first on a slide and somehow contorts his whole body so his hand is touching the plate. Cinematography magic.

Hardball – Tiger Stadium

Hardball was set in Chicago, but this scene was filmed in the old Tiger Stadium.

A perfect encapsulation of what it’s like seeing the field your first time ever at the ballpark. When Jefferson Tibbs sees Sammy Sosa for the first time even a guy with the coldest dead heart can’t help but smile.

Major League – Cleveland Stadium

The scene where Wild Thing comes to close it out in the ninth inning is amazing. There is nothing better than a good reliever song to get the crowd the juiced. If Jose Alvarado came out to Wild Thing he’d automatically be a 5% better pitcher in my eyes. That’s just the way my brain works.  I don’t even know what Seranthony’s walkout music is, but we need to get him something better than Edwin Diaz’s stat:

Honorable mentions:

Wrigley Field (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Rookie of the Year)

The Ballpark in Arlington (The Rookie)

Oakland Coliseum (Moneyball, Angels in the Outfield)

Miller Park (Mr. 3000)
