Johnny Gaudreau was on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast and of course fielded questions about the Flyers inability to even offer him a contract. One of the answers included Biz mocking Chuck Fletcher for his “too hard to move cap” line in the press conference:

Credit to Johnny for trying to take the high road in his answer, but that sheepish laugh he gave after Biz talked about Fletcher in the press conference was his ‘tell’ that he can’t believe he’s not a Flyer either. Fletcher is becoming a punching bag and not even just in hockey circles. I spend maybe 1% of my time caring about the Flyers before the NHL playoffs. The consummate Pink Hat fan. I’m Flyered up from the weeks of mid-May to whenever they get knocked out of the playoffs. Even I know that Fletcher right now is Public Enemy #1 in Philadelphia. There’s a good chance you talked to someone who doesn’t follow hockey in this area who asked you, “What’s going on with that Flyers GM? Chuck whats-his-face?” That’s how much the Flyers fucked up on the first day of free agency.

Not to mention they pissed off one of their best players too. I love Ryan Whitney chiming in that Kevin Hayes is going to be in Columbus by 2024. At that point we’ll be in Year 3 of the aggressive re-tool and Scott Hartnell will have a corner office in the Wells Fargo Center:
