This will be Schwarber’s second derby. He competed back in 2018, finishing second to… Bryce Harper! That was the 19-18 final round, if you remember. Schwarber actually hit 26 home runs that entire season and is already up to 28 this year, which is crazy. He’s on pace to smash his single-season high of 38 homers, which took place in 2019. He also had a career-high 92 RBI that season and will likely break both of those numbers unless he falls off a cliff in the second half.

Anyway, good to see a Phillie in the derby. He’ll be the first Phil to take part since 2018, when Rhys Hoskins lost in the second round to… Kyle Schwarber.
