WWE announced Wednesday that Wrestlemania 40 will be at Lincoln Financial Field for a two-night event on April 6th and April 7th, 2024:

Matt Breen from the Inky had more:

WrestleMania will bring more to town than just two nights of wrestling as WWE will bookend the event by hosting Smackdown on Friday night and Raw on Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center along with the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, which is usually held the night before WrestleMania. WWE will also hold fan events at the Convention Center.

The last time Wrestlemania was in Philly was 1999 at the Wells Fargo Center when Undertaker hung Bossman from the cell:

Jesus Christ, 90s WWE rocked. Vince McMahon was really the GOAT of sports entertainment.

Stay hot Philadelphia! Hey, I’m not saying the city doesn’t need an Attitude Adjustment or that it hasn’t hit Rock Bottom, but it’s pretty cool to see Philly is going to be the epicenter of a lot of big moments over the next decade. FIFA World Cup and PGA Championship at Aronimink in 2026, US Open at Merion in 2030, the Sixers moving in 2031 and now Wrestlemania in 2024. Cue all the people who are only going to shit on the city when they hear this news because of only what they watch on Channel 6 or they support another political party. Is the city safe right now? Of course not. It never 100% was. Do I think it can get better? Of course. I always felt safe from 2012-2020 and I spent three of those years on Temple’s campus. Believe it or not people are actually moving into the city and not leaving as much as your uncle on Facebook wants you to believe. Obviously a lot of people in charge of these major events aren’t worried either.
