Zack Wheeler was snubbed from the All-Star Game Sunday night. The good news is he can still make it via injuries or players being scratched due to pitching days before the game. Fuck it though! Lets get mad anyway. It’s the dog days of summer. What else are we going to do now that the Jalen Hurts OTA rumors were overblown? –

All great arguments. All valid reasons why Zack Wheeler should be pitching in the All Star Game. Blah blah blah. We have bigger problems. What we should be focused on is making sure Kyle Schwarber refuses to do the Home Run Derby. Right now he’s 50/50 according to Jim Salisbury:

“I’m up in the air right now, I’d say 50-50,” he said. “I’ll make a decision in the next couple of days. I want to see how my body is. It’s a bucket list thing. I did it once in 2018 and it’s fun. But it’s also taxing. You weigh the pros and cons.”

Any Phillies fan can see shades of Bobby Abreu already:

Remember those post-Home Run Derby splits? Woof:

Bobby was never the same after the Derby. It’s like when your favorite hockey team wins 5-0 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Great win sure, but save some goals for the rest of the series. Schwarbs has already done it. Sit back and watch that circus act Pete Alonso win the most important trophy of his career. We’ve got a playoff run to go on.

P.S. If Wheeler doesn’t make it, it’ll probably be for his own good. The worst thing a pale guy with a bald head can do in the summer is rock a white top:

He’d end up looking like one of those tissue paper ghosts your kid brings home from kindergarten:
