Bryce Harper is an MVP teammate according to Tom Housenick at The Morning Call. The Iron Pigs and Gwinnett Stripers on Friday enjoyed Mission BBQ and then Harper one-upped himself Saturday when he bought an entire steak dinner for the Pigs:

The IronPigs, the Phillies’ Triple-A affiliate, had a pregame spread from Mission BBQ on Friday — courtesy of the Phillies MVP.

They also enjoyed steaks Saturday night from PRIME Steak House in Bethlehem.

The Gwinnett Stripers, the Braves Triple-A affiliate and IronPigs opponent this week at Coca-Cola Park, also received a helping Friday of Harper’s tasty generosity.

It’s not as generous as Max Scherzer buying $7,000 worth of food and AirPods for everyone in Double A earlier in the year, but Scherzer spent about 10 days over two rehab starts. Bryce spent two.

Bryce wasn’t even the only one who splurged on a pregame feast Friday. Brandon Marsh got the guys Chick-fil-A pregame as well:

Additionally, outfielder Brandon Marsh (left ankle sprain) had a two-game rehab assignment Thursday and Friday with Lehigh Valley before being activated Saturday by Philadelphia. He treated his IronPigs teammates before Friday’s game — with Chick-fil-A.

I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but if you’re an Iron Pig wouldn’t you probably wish one of these guys picked up the tab pre-game and the other post-game? How do you choose between Chick-fi-A and Mission BBQ? Like maybe Darick Hall wanted Mission, but he didn’t want to sweat out a belly full of brisket on first in the heat so he opted for a chicken sandwich. I don’t know, just my two cents. I’m just hoping the communication gets better when Bryce and Marsh are playing next to each other in the outfield next season.

P.S. Scott Kingery better be springing for weekly steak dinners out there with this contract:
