The Athletic released their annual survey polling 26 NFL agents on a bunch of different questions, including Deshaun Watson, Lamar Jackson, Brian Flores, and more. Last year, Howie Roseman was the least-trusted NFL GM, receiving seven votes. This year, with only four votes, he reclaimed the title:

10. Among GMs or front-office leaders, whom do you trust the least?

Eagles GM Howie Roseman (four votes)

“I don’t trust what comes out of his mouth because he lied to me.”

“I don’t think he’s very transparent. He kind of tells you what you think you want to hear. He does the same thing with the players.”

Are we looking at a dynasty run? Last year, this is what NFL agents had to say about Howie:

“He’s always playing both sides at all times. He’s not dishonest. He’s a hedger. Always makes sure he has a side deal.”

“Howie will do what Howie needs to do. I say that with tremendous reverence, but I don’t trust him.”

“This is easy. He tells you one thing and does the opposite. You can tell him something and say it stays with us and then three or four people are hitting me up about what we discussed. It doesn’t make him a bad guy, but there’s no transparency.”

You’d think all the terrible free agent signings Howie has made over the years that he’d make some friends in the agent game. I guess none of these guys who were surveyed represent a cornerback.

Am I wrong for thinking this survey doesn’t matter? I remember Eagles fans having a field day with it last year coming off the backs of the Carson Wentz and Jalen Reagor debacle. I mean agents shouldn’t like GMs and GMs shouldn’t like agents. They’re there to get the best deal possible for their side. It’s like Democrats and Republicans trying to get a bill across the floor. Someone always loses.

Conversely, maybe this is why the cupboard of free agents has been bare for the Eagles the last couple of years. The Eagles missed out on Marcus Williams, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Stephon Gilmore this offseason. You could argue it’s because they had so many draft picks. We’ll never know. If Howie is the least trustworthy GM in the league he’s done some good work rebuilding this team through the draft and with trades over the last two years.
