I'm Tired of the Mets Forgetting they're Still the Mets
The Mets are welcoming Timmy Trumpets to Citi Field, the guy behind the viral Edwin Diaz walk out song, next Tuesday against the Dodgers.
Awesome idea… if it actually goes to plan:
Good stuff: Timmy Trumpet will be at Citi Field on Tuesday, Mets announce. If Edwin Diaz enters that game against the Dodgers, Timmy Trumpet will perform “Narco” live as Diaz comes out of the bullpen.

I’m all for a good bit, but I’m getting more and more annoyed with Mets fans. One good season and Mets fans have forgotten that at the end of the day, until they have the World Series trophy in hand – they’re still the Mets! They’re still 1986. Still 4-1 in the 2000 Subway Series. Still Endy Chavez robbing Scott Rolen only for Yadi Molina to send them home packing. Still the division collapse in 2007. Still the World Series loss in 2015. Still practicing how to celebrate a World Series victory DURING spring training.
Yes, the Mets are the Phillies’ daddy this season. The leader of the 7 Line Army cemented that. Congrats! We’ve owned them just as much as they’ve owned themselves this millennium. This move screams overconfidence. If I were a Mets fan I would hate this. Speak softly and carry a big stick. The shit talking and chest thumping is amazing after 40+ years of losing in the most unimaginable ways. The Mets are setting themselves up for a car crash and we’re lucky enough to have front row seats. It’s one thing to be the best in 162 games. It’s the final 11 that have always eluded you.
