Lane Johnson Snubbed from Admittedly Useless NFL Top 100 List
Each year, the NFL does a player poll determining the top 100 guys in the league. It shouldn’t be taken too seriously, since some players just pick favorites and/or spend 30 seconds throwing shit at the wall, but when I go over this from top to bottom, the omission of Lane Johnson is particularly egregious:

For some context, last year Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, and Jason Kelce made the list, though none finished in the top 60. That wasn’t surprising considering the fact that the Birds were coming off a terrible season and starting their first year with Nick Sirianni. In prior campaigns, Zach Ertz, Brandon Brooks, and others were mainstays in the top 100.
These are the Eagles that did make the list in 2022:
- Darius Slay #77
- Jason Kelce #61
That’s it. Just two players. Johnson was a second-team all Pro but isn’t on the list. Four tackles did make it.
It’s always hard to compare players across different positions, like how would you rate Johnson compared to #94, Justin Tucker? A kicker vs. a tackle. It’s kinda stupid, but you can’t tell me that Kyle fucking Juszczyk and David Montgomery are better NFL players than Lane Johnson, who probably gets docked arbitrary points for playing on the right side instead of the left.
Underdogs baby. Put on the dog masks.
