Lets put into perspective just how much the NFL is on a different planet than other leagues:
“There are 16 NFL franchises worth at least $4 billion, versus seven total in the other U.S. sports leagues (four MLB, three NBA).”
Basically, if you’re not an NFL owner, you’re poor as shit today in sports. Obviously that’s not true, but you can look at the recent purchase of the Broncos to see what someone will have to pay to join this exclusive club. The Walton family paid $4.65 billion, more than doubling what David Tepper paid for the Panthers in 2018.
The Eagles increased their valuation by almost a billion dollars from 2021 ($3.7 billion). That’s a lot of Bud Lights and DeVonta Smith jerseys. Jeffrey Lurie bought the team for $185 million back in 1994. Wild.
