This guy is the Minnesota Vikings reporter for ESPN, kind of like their Tim McManus, and he rolled out the most overblown and overused insult the other night:

Wow that’s a good one! I’ve never heard that before. We booed Santa Claus, and by “we,” I mean the 1.2% of still-breathing Eagles fans who were at Franklin Field in 1968. No one likes us, and we usually don’t care, except when they roll out the Santa Claus shit for the umpteenth time.

It’s been clearly articulated many times over the years that this Santa was a fill in because the other guy didn’t show up. The game stunk, everyone was cold, and so they booed this ripoff Santa and started pelting him with snowballs. Not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

But wait, there’s more:

“We” didn’t do anything obnoxious. I was negative 16 years old when the Santa Claus thing happened. If you were alive when this happened, you are now 55 years old, at the youngest. That would make you a baby in 1968. The people old enough to go to this game are now in their late 60s, 70s, or 80s. The Santa Claus thing is basically a nothing burger at this point. We’ve done plenty of stupid shit since, but the fake news national media needs to stop with this.
