Maybe I’m a dickhead for thinking this, but it’s kind of hard to feel bad for Marcus Smith. He made over $10 million in his career. He’s only 30 years old and his brain doesn’t have CTE because he didn’t get on the field enough in the five seasons he played. He doesn’t have to give the money back. Yea, I hate to hear he was going through bouts of depression because he couldn’t live up to expectations, but the Eagles took a risk on him and it didn’t pan out. This is also the same guy that tweeted this after playing 15 snaps in a 2017 Eagles/Seahawks game:
Talk that shit!

People don’t live up to contracts all the time in sports and other jobs. It’s like Katie Nolan at ESPN. She had a meteoric rise, ESPN signed her to $1 million+ a year contract, she didn’t live up it, and now she’s the Dollar Store Kay Adams. Was it pressure? Was it ESPN not knowing how to utilize her? Who knows. Money still cleared. If someone threw a bag at me and I didn’t live up to the hype it would suck. I’d cry and then open up my PNC account.
P.S. Every time Howie thinks about drafting a 1st rounder from the BIG 10 or ACC I want him to watch this and realize SEC guys are the way to go forever.
