Phillies Send Out NLDS Ticket Pre-Sale Email After Losing to Cubs
After another deflating loss on Tuesday night, Phillies fans are upset the team sent out a “NLDS Ticket Presale” email this morning. I think this tweet was deleted, but here’s a screenshot of it. I’ll still write about it because there are a lot of Phillies fans annoyed they got this email:
I think this one falls into the Kevin Kinkead theory of Two Things Can Be True. Yea the optics look terrible. When losing the season series to one of the worst teams in the NL, you hate receiving these kind of things. Then there’s the other side, where you could say if the Phillies do go on a run and somehow beat the Mets or Braves in the Wild Card (highly unlikely), the Phillies can’t get caught with their pants down because they were too scared to send an email about playoff tickets after a loss. People would be losing their jobs if they got left holding the bag on thousands of tickets. It’s the same thing when the Sixers send out playoff tickets to season ticket holders that include prices for each round. Everyone knew the Sixers weren’t a championship team last year, but that doesn’t mean the Sixers still don’t offer STH’s the chance to buy them just in case. A lot of times if the team doesn’t make it deep the money will roll over and pay for a portion of next year’s seats if you re-up. Every team does this. The White Sox were never a real playoff contender and they sent this email two weeks ago:
How about you make the playoffs first before you try to get me to buy tickets for a nonexistent series? Sheeesh @whitesox pic.twitter.com/vM0dNi5IP0

I’m sure Orioles and Giants fans are getting the same ones since they’re not mathematically eliminated yet. Don’t get me wrong there are idiots out there who bought their NLDS tix already. Here’s one of them:
Sue me. I was on a Dollar Dog high. The cheap meat affected my brain like a tapeworm, but if the Phils shock the world and make it to the NLDS, your boy will be there for Game 3. Then I can say I always believed in this team.
