Sixers news:

If you recall seeing Harrell’s name in headlines lately, it’s because he had a felony marijuana charge reduced to a misdemeanor. That gets expunged if he’s clean for 12 months with no issues.

Right, so this is a good pickup for the Sixers because the only thing they’re missing on paper is a backup big behind Joel Embiid. We can have a separate conversation about whether or not they need a like-for-like swap in the postseason, or whether they can replicate some of the small ball that James Harden, P.J. Tucker, and Danuel House played in Houston, but in a vacuum Harrell is a nice piece to have. He’s a guy who will grab you 12 and six off the bench, a guy who has played more than 450 games but has less than 29 starts. Harrell really is a prototypical bench big who started his career under Daryl Morey and then played for Doc Rivers in LA.

He’s also a dawg, and the Sixers wanted/needed dawgs, so with Harrell and Tucker in the fold, plus Furkan Korkmaz mixing it up with Georgia players at EuroBasket, Philly should not be short on attitude this season.

Good addition, Harrell.
