Why Don't the Phillies Want Me, Man?
Dollar Dog Night is coming up on September 21st. Everyone has seen the video of me calling Senator Bob Casey and complaining about the lack of Dollar Dog Nights on the Phillies schedule:
Call your local congressman and don’t stop until the @Phillies add another Dollar Dog Night to the schedule @SenBobCasey

Hey Kyle, Regina passed along your message.
I agree, more Dollar Dog Nights. @Phillies, let's do this. https://t.co/pd1xlmyrnu

Aramark revealed that there would another DDD at a later date, four hours after the Casey response:
I reached out to Aramark after the @SenBobCasey tweet. Get your relish ready! Looks like more $1 dog nights are on deck @Phillies games. pic.twitter.com/8xuYU3a7VF

For bringing back Dollar Dog Night, I’ve been thanked by people on the street, in the grocery store, at weddings, in the CBP bathroom, everywhere. It’s honestly wild how many people saw the original video. I’m sure at the time the Phillies were probably pissed they had to acknowledge this while sitting under .500 after John Middleton went over the luxury tax. Still, I thought as the date got closer maybe the Phillies would lean in and let Regina, Sen. Casey, and myself throw out the first pitch, or launch hot dogs with the Phanatic. I mean, if you think about it, I’ll technically have a hand in people purchasing 500+ tickets, and we all know the Phillies will sell their soul to the devil if you do that.
I’ve reached out to them. Senator Casey’s people have reached out to them. This guy made a Tiktok that has over 30k views and 400+ comments of people spamming the Phillies to let me launch hotdogs with the Phanatic:
@noshortsusa
Crickets.
So you know what? If they don’t want anything to do with me, that’s fine, but I’ll get their attention another way and I need your help. Lets break the Dollar Dog Night single game record. The record for most hot dogs eaten at a DDN is 77,285 set back in 2019 (thanks to my buddy Bruce at the Phillies for getting me that number). If we sell out the Bank and everyone eats two, we’ll blow through that record by the second inning. Of course, I’m not naive enough to think that’s going to happen, especially the way this team is playing, but hey, gas is down, the Phils are still going to be in a playoff spot, and you’re going to be a part of history. Tix are going for $16/piece right now. I’m calling for big boys. I’m calling for short kings. Anyone with an appetite for some glizzys. We need social media efforts. If anyone has a cool hash tag – #GlizitensBankPark is an early favorite. We need a media blitz. If you or someone you know has a big platform in the area reach out to me on Twitter or Instagram. We have two weeks to sell as many tickets as possible.
I’ll get 10 down. I know Skin n’ Bones can do 20 without blinking. Who’s got the next 77,256? –
