To say things had not been going well for Rhys Hoskins this postseason would be an understatement.

He entered Friday in the midst of a much talked about 1-for-18 slump and made a costly defensive mistake in the Phillies’ Game 2 loss to the Braves.

Game 3 didn’t get off to a much better start for the first baseman.  A strikeout in the first was followed by some boos from the sellout crowd at Citizens Bank Park.

Then, with one pissed off swing, everything changed for Hoskins.

Everything.

With a run across in the bottom of the third against the rapidly tiring Spencer Strider, Bryson Stott was at second with one out. Braves manager Brian Snitker elected to intentionally walk Kyle Schwarber to get to Hoskins.

An understandable strategy, but, as it turns out, also a terrible one.
