Dollar Dogs? $5 Beers? Valerie Camillo a woman after my heart! Two tickets are going for $22/piece right now and it’s still early in the season where the guys are playing some good hockey. Here’s more about the promotion from a Flyers press release:

Today, the Philadelphia Flyers announced they will open doors to Wells Fargo Center for ticketholders early on Sunday, October 23, so fans catch watch the Philly sports baseball-hockey double header with discounted food and beverages.

Fans with tickets to the Flyers vs. San Jose Sharks game at 7 p.m. will have access to the East Food Hall and bar starting early, at 2 p.m. where the other big game will be on TVs and $5 beers and $1 hot dogs will be available.“ Go Phillies, Go Flyers,” said Valerie Camillo, President and CEO of Spectacor Sports and Entertainment.

This is a good move by the Flyers. So far they’ve strung together some gritty wins against some good opponents, the coach is breathing some life into this team, and now this promotion. Are the Flyers becoming a competent franchise right before our eyes? Probably not. At the end of the day it still has the stink of Comcast on it. It’s like renting your dream apartment, but the tenants before you had a cat. It’s a beautiful apartment, but that one corner of the room you sleep in still smells like cat piss no matter how much of a deep clean you give it. A metaphorical reminder to you that nothing is perfect. They’ll do something that makes us scratch our heads in the next two weeks.

What’s the dollar dog night record at Wells Fargo? I guarantee we can break that one:

P.S. John Middleton I know you’re the toast of the town right now, but numbers never lie.
