The Birds scored 40 points and ran for 363 yards in Sunday night’s Green Bay win. Those are epic numbers, so epic in fact that if you go through all of the box scores in franchise history, they’ve only done that once before, back in 1948.

Here’s the full list of the 14 games in which they’ve run for 275 or more:

I remember that Redskins game like it was yesterday! Sike. I was negative 36 years old at the time. Ray Diddy might have some nuggets from the guys who played in that game, but according to Sport Radar, Steve Van Buren ran for 179 yards in thaewin, with Bosh Pritchard, Jack Myers, and Nobel Doss each going for 50+. Tommy Thompson only threw the ball 17 times yet logged three touchdown passes and two picks. It was Big 12 football before anybody knew it.

You look at more recent games, and only four other times since the year 2000 have the Eagles run for more than 275 yards. Obviously the Detroit Snow Bowl was one of them, back in 2013. There’s another 2013 game on the list as well, that game against Chicago when Shady went for 133 on the ground and Bryce Brown chipped in 115 as well. The 2000 game against the Cowboys was when Duuuuuce went for 201 and Brian Mitchell, Stanley Pritchett, and Donovan had contributions as well. It was the season opener and they absolutely plastered Dallas on the road.

The other game on that list that’s curious is 1990, a Randall Cunningham game which I did not remember off the top of my head. Turns out Randall went for 124 on the ground, then Heath Sherman added 113 and yardage from Rodger Vick, Keith Byars, and Fred Barnett pushed them over 300 yards. Looking through game logs, it was one of Cunningham’s best statistical performances, with 240 more yards through the air and four passing touchdowns.

There were some great players involved in those aforementioned games. Jalen Hurts and Miles Sanders now? They’re playing as good as anyone right now.
