We touched on this Wednesday in the media nuggets column, but NBC Sports Philadelphia’s addition of Ashlyn Sullivan is now officially official. She’ll replace Taryn Hatcher on the Flyers broadcasts and debut tonight, Thursday.

Sullivan comes over from the Jacksonville Jaguars, where she was working as the team reporter, so basically she was “The Duval Dave Spadaro,” which is a great nickname. I came up with it myself.

According to her Linkedin page, she also worked at CBS/Fox in Jacksonville and with the Jacksonville Armada soccer team, though it appears as though this will be her first go-round with hockey. She’s a 2017 graduate of the University of Florida.

NBC conducted these auditions and interviews awhile back, so I’m not sure why it took so long to get Sullivan in place. I’m told the guy in charge of personnel over there is notoriously slow when it comes to this stuff.

Anyway, let’s give her a warm Philadelphia welcome and pray for this young woman as she dedicates her career to the worst team in the region.
