Schwartz resigned here in early 2021 and then became a Tennessee defensive assistant. Now he’s replacing Joe Woods and tasked with turning a middle of the pack unit into a respectable one.
What’s funny is that people’s Jonathan Gannon complaints are the same shit you used to hear about Schwartz. He doesn’t blitz enough. Ronald Darby is 10 yards off the receiver. Nate Gerry got cooked in coverage. Say what you will, but that 2017 defense was monstrous through the regular season and then more or less won the game against Oakland, which clinched home field, and won the divisional round against the Falcons. The Patrick Robinson pick-six was the catalyst for the Vikings win and then Nick Foles took it from there. They gave up 5 bazillion yards in the Super Bowl but won anyway and the rest is history.
