The Eagles want to add a 4th-and-15 option in lieu of an onside kick:
This is what the play looks like in the XFL right now:
You can still attempt an onside kick whenever you want in the XFL, but in the 4th quarter the 4th-and-15 play becomes another option. If you don’t convert your opponent gets the ball wherever the team was marked down. Pretty simple and I think it adds a more entertaining layer to the game since onside kicks were recovered at only 5.3% in 2022. Just throw that shit up to AJ Brown and let him go get it like he did the entire season:
