James Harden’s stock is up both on and off the court. Buy Buy Buy! –
🙏 Sixers star James Harden FaceTimed 1 of the Michigan State Students who was shot & paralyzed from the waist down
“You’ll be alright. I promise you are … I love when you’re smiling, alright? I’m with you. I know it’s tough right now but you have to stay physically strong” pic.twitter.com/KWRl6G36wG

He looks healthy for the first time in three seasons, he was proved right in leaving Brooklyn, and now he’s helping Michigan State student John Hao, who was shot on campus two weeks ago and paralyzed.
According to Tim Bontemps at ESPN, Harden’s people found out he was Hao’s favorite player and wanted to lift his spirits:
Harden said members of his team heard about Hao’s situation, so a couple of them went to visit Hao at Sparrow Hospital, where he remains after the shooting. Harden sent sneakers, including a game-worn pair, donated to Hao’s GoFundMe and called him on FaceTime to offer him some encouraging words.
What an unfair hand Hao was dealt. One day you’re a happy and healthy college kid with your entire life ahead of you. Now you’re paralyzed because some asshole wanted to play God. At least he’s got guys like Harden in his corner to help get him through the tough times:

“This is bigger than basketball. I'm fortunate just to be in a position where I can make an impact on people's lives. That's what I really care about… I gave him my number, whenever he needs anything he can call”
