The Matisse Thybulle mural in Fishtown has been defaced, vandalized, ruined, deformed! Here’s a photo of it from last night.

I haven’t seen that much white gook on someone’s back since I gave the family computer a virus downloading Kim Kardashian Superstar on Limewire.

I think the person who did this is probably some YouTube prankster or… Matisse Thybulle himself. Think about it. Couldn’t you see Matisse release a video with some clickbait title like, “I Defaced My Own Mural” for the views? I mean he’s on All Star break. He probably flew back to clean out his apartment since he had the week off. The owners of Garage released a very vague statement, were planning on painting over it shortly, and aren’t getting police involved via Michael Tanenbaum at The PhillyVoice:

“Our company statement is, ‘This is why we can’t have nice things,'” bar manager Brandon Neiburg said Monday afternoon.

Garage isn’t planning to get police involved in the matter, and it’s not clear when exactly the white paint was splashed on the mural, Neiburg said.

The bar had been planning to paint over the mural in March, anyway. This act of vandalism may expedite that timeline. Thybulle and the Trailblazers play the Sixers at the Wells Fargo Center on March 10.

I just don’t think someone loses enough sleep over Matisse Thybulle to go buy some paint and splash it all over the mural. Ben Simmons? Yes. Matisse? No.

Something stinks!
