After Rhys Hoskins Injury, Darick Hall to Get "the Majority of the Playing Time at First Base"
A torn ACL for Rhys Hoskins means Darick Hall is the next man up:
Dombrowksi says that Hoskins will get a second opinion but it’s clear there’s a tear. They say they expect him to be out for the season. Added that they “like Darick Hall a lot” and feel that he’ll get the majority of playing time at first base.

Phillies will move forward with Darick Hall at first base. “I do feel comfortable to say that we like Darick Hall a lot,” Dave Dombrowski said. “We feel that he’ll get the majority of the playing time at first base. … We think he’s ready to step up and be a big league player.”

Hall at 1st, Jake Cave DH, mix it up for lefties, yadda yadda. We’ll see how it goes. Anthony seems to think that the lineup you saw Thursday is going to be the Phils’ opening day roster but thinks it might be a short leash type of situation for Hall. Alec Bohm could go to 1st and Edmundo Sosa could got to 3rd, though Bohm had some really strong defensive plays at 3rd in the postseason, so we’re not totally sure if the Phils want to move him off that spot.
That said, the latter scenario seems to be the most popular on Phillies Twitter, at least as the approach for lefties. It would be Hall getting an opportunity at 1st, and being the everyday guy against right handers, then against LHP Bohm goes to 1st and Sosa to third. We’ll see!
